Eggs - sink or float?!

Question: Okay, I know eggs are bad when they float and good when they sink. But my eggs are kind of standing upright on their pointy ends... so they are completely underwater, but they're not exactly floating or sinking. Are they okay to eat?

There is an air bubble in them that makes one end lighter so yes they stand up, but if they don't float you should be able to eat them. p.s. buy fresh more often and it won't be a question.

I had never heard that about floating the egg. If you shake an egg and it feels wobbly inside, it is too old. Also, unless you have your own chickens, your egg carton should have an expiration date :D

yea they're still ok to eat, just dont wait anymore days or weeks, since they're not really fresh anymore.

yeap,. it s still good.

eggs that sink-fresh(1 week old)
eggs that stand upright-average(2-3 weeks old)
eggs that float-poor quality(3 or more weeks)

you can also:
crack the egg in a plate, if the egg white is still jelly like, then it is still fresh.
if the egg white is loose and flows on a wide space, then it isn't that fresh anymore.
if the yolk breaks once it reaches the plate, then it is probably not good anymore.
