How do you make soft , cake-like sugar/cut out cookies?!
Answers: I have a cute ice cream cone shaped cookie cutter that I'd like to use to make vanilla sugar cookies. I don't want hard and crunchy cookies. - which is what always seems to happen unless you eat them immediately. If you know how to make soft/cake-like cookies that can be cut-out, please share. (Would prefer no cut and paste recipes from cooking sites - thanks)
the best thing I have realized is if I use half Margarine and half butter so if the recipe calls for 2 cups of butter use 1 margarine and 1 butte they were so soft and stayed soft for a few days after....It was great!
The recipe I use calls for powdered sugar not granulated.
This seems to be the key.
Use spring wheat flour, it's softer. (Like seal of Minnesota.) Also, the less you work the dough the softer it will be, the more you handle and roll it out, the tougher it will be.
