How can I get my lemon poppyseed muffins YELLOW?!

Question: In the stores they're cool and yellow and have sweetly sticky tops.

At home, they're white, a bit dry, and their tops are plain.

What can I do to my recipe?

You can add a few drops of yellow food coloring. When you remove the bread from the oven, take a wooden skewer and poke holes throughout the top. Combine 1 cup confectioners sugar with a teaspoon of lemon juice and enough warm water to make a pourable glaze then drizzle over the warm bread before removing them from pans.

well if you want to add artificial color like the stores do then all you need is yellow food dye but honestly do you really want to?

add yellow food coloring and brush tops with powdered sugar, water mixed looser than a paste but not liquidy

Use yellow cake mix, always add the whole egg (the yellow make the flour change to a golden hue) finally you could add golden saffron a few threads really make cake yellow and the flavor is buried by the poppy seed and lemon.

Try food coloring ,use just the point of a toothpick an till you get the right color that you need.

Try buying mix. It always works for me!
