Could someone tell me the merits of an electric frying pans? What are some of your favorites that U have used!

Question: you can control the heat a little better with an electric skillet better than on a burner. i seem to be less likely to burn things in them than on the stove. i have an oblong shaped one that is fairly large and i think it is a west bend.

I like to use mine for things that need to simmer long periods, such as my pepper steak........I also take it to the garage to fry bacon so I don't mess up my kitchen (I fry a lot of bacon at one time, then freeze so breakfast or sammies are a snap)

I love a large electric skillet for mainly one thing only: Fajitas.

It is large and can handle a lot of volume of food. If I am making this for a luncheon at work, it is very portable. It reaches a high temperature, and is easily adjustable.

Pick a big, square or rectangular one in the size you need with a tall lid, so that you can cook a variety of things.

I only use mine to cook table top for parties and breakfast buffets other than that I just cook on my stove. I haven't found a notable difference between the $10 and the $100 version - they all work about the same and have the same life span (4-6yrs) so it really comes down to preference of color and size. Good Luck!
