To make the bread pudding more gooey use cream instead of milk and really let the bread soak up the custard before baking.

Yes, and this is a cross between a classic bread pudding, and a caffluti, the French custard made with fruit, eggs, sugar, milk, cream, vanilla and flour. To make this decide what you would like to add to your dessert, apples, pears, bananna, nuts, coconut, rum, brandy, and once you decide this, add to this recipe as follows:

For 4-6 people

6 whole eggs
1 cup heavy cream or half and half
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
vanilla ( 1 tablespoon)
fav. liquor to taste
fav. nuts, coconut, fruits
1 whole cut up or torn pannetone or other coffee cake, ( Sara Lee is also great for this)
1 loaf of French bread torn to pieces
cinnamon
Nutmeg

beat eggs , sugar, milk/cream, flavourings together in one bowl. In a large baking pan, melt 1 stick of butter, add in fruit, rum, brandy, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg, toss with spoon, adding in flour, and toss again.
Pour egg mixture over fruit, add in breads, and toss again, adding in more cream if needed for a nice custardy texture when baked.
Dot with butter and sugar, and bake in an oven for 25 minutes at 350-375 degrees, It will puff and lightly brown. If you want this more custardy, take out before the 25 minutes and it will be like a custard sauce on the bottom. This is great for everyone, everything, what ailes ya, and what you want to serve a man who wants to be spoiled.
