How long does it take you to make spaghetti?!

Question: Do you cheat and use that disgusting Ragu sauce or do you make your own sauce from tomatoes. Do you use Italian sausage or do you cheat and use hamburger. I like it made the real way. It should actually take about 6-7 hours if done correctly.

You must be Italian!!!!

Thats how it is SUPPOSED to be cooked!!! Yummy!!!!

PS----What time is dinner?

???

very simple , buy the tomatoe sauce , chop onions, add some peas and meat balls all to pasta.

I make my own pesto but tomoato sauce I usually buy,
but I can't stand ragu.
I really like Classico and another brand I cant remember off the top of my head.
I buy fresh noodles, so it only takes about 5 minutes for my meal to be complete.
I got spoiled when I worked for a pasta factory where we made everything fresh.

I don't no how 2 make it

Mine usually takes about 6-7hrs. I do use hot Italian sausage, and seasoned hamburger. Homemade beets the nasty Jard sauces.

6-7 hours?? I'd starve at your house!!

Real sauce does not have to include sausage. Spaghetii noodles take 10-15 minutes to cook. For a sauce, fry onions and garlic in a skillet, add green peppers, mushrooms, and ground meat, and cook until meat is brown. Add 1 can of tomato sauce or 1 can stewed tomatoes; 1 pinch of sugar (to level the tartness), fresh basil, fresh parsley, ground black pepper, 1 laurel leaf, stir and simmer or 20-25 minutes.

Total time if noodles and sauce cooked at the same time: 30-35 minutes including chopping veggies and cleaning up.

When you do it right and make it from scratch, it can take hours and hours.

If you start with a packaged sauce and add onions, mushrooms, and spices, you can go from a cold stove to dinner on the table in an hour or less. And it tastes pretty good. Not as good as homemade, but pretty good.

My spaghetti taste just as good as if it were made from scratch, everyone thinks so. It usually takes about 30 minutes. I use Hunt's or Del Monte spaghetti sauce or Newmans's Own sauce real good, and I have never heard of using sausage for spaghetti only pizza. I use lean ground beef and spaghetti noodles or egg noodles , just as good. I also add garlic and onion salt. My dad cannot eat onions, that is why I use the onion salt.

I make big batches of homemade spaghetti sauce and freeze it in meal-size bowls. Making the sauce takes awhile because I let it sit almost all day. Reheating the sauce, however, takes 10 minutes from freezer to the microwave, the same time it takes to cook the spaghetti and toast some garlic bread. Simplest meal ever!

I make a simpler non-meat marinara sauce for ravioli, calzones, cheese sticks, etc.

I use tomato sauce in both and soy crumbles in the s'getti sauce since I'm a vegetarian. And I'm growing tomatoes this year, so I will start making the tomato sauce from scratch too!

I only make it from scratch on a Saturday when I am home all day...Love the smells in the kitchen....

I use box noodles, and usually a jar of sauce. Preferably something organic or Newman's Sweet Onion and Roasted Garlic. Lately I also add asparagus and caramelized onions. Good stuff!
