Bread and Butter Pudding

8 slices French bread, each 1/2 inch thick
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 eggs
2/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups heavy cream, scalded and cooled
Powdered sugar, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Butter 1 1/2-quart casserole. Spread one side of each slice bread with butter. Layer bread slices, buttered sides up, in casserole; sprinkle with cinnamon. Beat eggs slightly in medium bowl; mix in granulated sugar, honey vanilla and salt. Stir in cream; pour over bread.
2. Place casserole in pan of very hot water (1 inch deep). Cover casserole loosely with aluminum foil. Bake 20 minutes; remove foil. Continue baking 35 to 40 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge of casserole comes out clean. (Cover with foil if top gets too brown.)
3. Remove casserole from hot water. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm. Store covered in refrigerator

how about fruit with fruit dip or a fruit pizza?

jus basic party food would do lol... cake, fruit, sweets, biscuits, sanwiches and everything else have fun at your get-together x

Sounds like just sweets at this gathering? What about other snacks? Chips and dip, cheese and crackers, meatballs or cocktail weenies? As for sweets, there is always various cookies or fruits.

anything but chocalate

Well, there's carob, and there's white chocolate, and I think there might be other coatings. But what's wrong with fruit flavors? Has vanilla gone the way of the retro look? Ask your guests, including your friend, what their favorite flavor is, and if it's not too extreme or out of budget, you might be able to come up with a nice assortment. Nearly everybody likes fresh fruit, too; serve in season fresh fruits and veggies with a couple of dips. Perhaps you could offer a munchie mix consisting of chocolate covered mini pretzels, nuts, yogurt covered stuff, M&Ms, etc. that you design yourself. If enough people express approval, it might make a nice little gift later on. Hope your party/get-together is a blast!

Make a vanilla or ice cream cake. You could even make a pie of some sort.

There are lots of other dessert without chocolate. Mini cheese cakes, lemon meringue pie, ice cream, cream puffs, fruit, you can even do some chocolate covered fruit, does she eat white chocolate? carrot cake, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies, etc. There are lots of things that don't have chocolate, just go to your local grocery store and look around. Also you could ask what she may enjoy and then you don't have to get a bunch of other things and it would alleviate the guess work.
