Answers: use an electric mixer or use the manual potato masher - I prefer the mixer, for speed

I mash with a potatoe masher and I add a small amount of garlic and some cheese!! YUMMY!

manual

Manual, it gets every single lump out.

manual

Use manual masher, add butter and a little milk, plus a little ground pepper.
Try parsnip and potatoe mash, great for getting veggies into children. Nice flavour too.
Try adding ground garlic and /or herbs too

If you use electric mixer makes too much washing up and wastes energy

I like mash, not mush. So I use the manual masher!

MANUEL AND TRY ADDING JUST SOME LOW FAT PHILIDELPHIA SOFT CHEESE ITS VERY NICE AND HEALTHY

manual!!the electric mixer makes it sticky!!

have to be careful with the mixer or it can make mash gloopy. You can use a ricer (available from cookware shops) to give really smooth mash. I always use milk and butter in my mash and a spot of cream if I have it. Herbs are also nice and add a sprinkling of colour.

manual. :)

Manual, I like to think my husbands head is in the pan.

I use a manual masher. Does the job just fine for me :-)

I use my food processor as my son can only eat mash that is really mushy.

manual with ricer, hate gloopy mash

i do it manually too...i normally get the boiled taties shove butter or marg in but if its for alot of people and even children i like to put in some boiled swede...yes i know people!...may sound eww!..but i aint a lover of swede myself but ill tell ya its lovely and filling too! xxx

Manual I need to work out!!!

It compensates for the blob of butter and splash of cream I add in!

Oh!.......... have you ever tried using the innards of Jacket potatoes put through a sieve- really messy but the ultimate on creamy mash!!!

Prefer manual masher, Add little hot milk to make extra smooth

manual

Manual-have you ever tried celeriac mash?-its lovely-cook celeriac till soft and mash with the spud-do try it

You got that right. There lighter, fluffier and oh sooo Good.

i use the masher, and add a good bit of butter .
all sorts can be added in mashed potatoes, i like fried onions. or carrots. but you have to make it to your taste.

if you use a potato masher, they are mashed. if you use a mixer, they are whipped. I use a mixer because my hubby likes whipped taters!

I start with manual and then use an electric mixer at the end to make it fluffy and light

manuel, its too much like baby food with the mixer for my liking. Butter and a splash of milk mashed up with a manuel potato masher. Yum!

Both - If I want creamy, I use the electric, If a little more texture is desired I use a masher.

Manual.

Mixer, definitely, it gets the lumps out better...

no the mixer will just turn it into thick gooie crem rubbish use a masher some no a lot of butter and a little bit of brandy for a kick BON APETIT

manual and add mustard, garlic or scallions according to what it is accompanying

manual

It depends on how many I am making. If I have company and I am making a lot of them my hand gets tired so I will use the mixer, if it is just me and my kids I will do it by hand.
