awwww how sweeet i would like sum too

Don't even try replacing 3/4 of a pound of real butter with that artificial crap. Make something else.

We use I cant believe its not butter and I have used it in place of butter in recipies with no problem at all!

Well, 3/4# of butter is 3 sticks or 1 1/2 cups of butter. I don't know what size tubs of fake stuff you have, but the small containers are 8 oz. or 1 cup each. So you need 1 1/2 of the small containers of I Can't Believe It's not Butter.

This will probably be ok for these shortbread cookies. And yes, leave out the 1/4 tsp. salt.

It's very nice of you to make a treat for your parents. Cut the shortbreads in any shape you want (guessing you don't have a hammer shaped cutter), but squares or rectangles would be easiest and then you don't have to worry about rerolling the scraps.

Have fun!

If you have shortening, try 1/2 cup shortening and 1 stick of the I can't believe it's not butter, eliminate the salt. You'll get the proper fat and butter flavor by mixing the two.

I am sorry to tell you that most of the answers so far will NOT give you a crisp buttery shortbread because your butter substitute contains too much water. Butter does not have that problem. Salted or not.
