Is it possible to give a white cake mix a vanilla flavor?!

Question: I need to make a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. Where I went, they had a yellow cake mix and a white cake mix. The person I'm making the cake for said she prefered the white cake mix but I know that she is picky and likes vanilla. Is it ok to add a little vanilla to the cake mix? If so, about how much?

The addition of vanilla should work fine, but be sure to put it in the measure cup *before* you add the water to measure. That way you don't throw off the amount of liquid required. Also, if you're starting with the white mix, then try to use clear vanilla to keep the cake looking white. You can get clear vanilla is most crafts stores but a few markets carry it as well.

yes, just add some vanilla essence, Usually about a small cap full is enough. You can do the same with the icing also.

try putting vanilla extrct in the cake mix to give it that sweet vanilla taste that your friend want.put about 2 teaspoons in the mix

yeah..id say 2 teaspoons

yes take some liquid vinilla and put like 5 drops or more no less but not too much or it wont taste right at all

Buy the clear vanilla or you will have a faintly beige cake. If you add a teaspoon or 2 of vanilla, subtract that amount from the liquid you add. ..

just add vanilla and all will be well the kids will love it !

one capful. Or one teaspoon of the fake stuff you buy in the regular stores. ENJOY

Use real vanilla if you have it. Hobby Lobby or Michaels sells it. But it's expensive. Worth it.
