A chicken question?!

Question: So I have a whole chicken that I've been defrosting for a couple of days now (was frozen) in my fridge. Today I checked it and it is now completely defrosted. Well, we are short-handed at my job and I have to work late shifts until Saturday and I will not have the time to cook the chicken until then. Will it still be good or do I have to kiss the 8 bucks I spent on it goodbye? It said freeze by April 5th and it's been frozen (I checked) until today.

It should be ok but I would smell it. If it has any odor, rancid or starting to smell funny, its best to not take a chance because chicken is one thing you don't want to take a chance with, as salmonella is no joke.. If there is no odor it should be ok.Do not refreeze it.

If it's still wrapped keep it in the fridge it will be fine.

it should still be good. we keep the chicken after the date in the freeze/freezer and it stays fresh.

DOnt't leave it out cause it will get bad and remember people don't like bad chewy meat!

it should be fine, just keep it wrapped up good in the fridge.

yes its fine

put it in the fridge, it will be fine! :0

I think it'll be close but should be ok.

It will be just fine and remember you can always put it in a crock pot over nite or while your away and serve it later.
