I need a donut recipe.....can you help?!


Question: Doughnuts
3 Eggs
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 c Sweet milk
1/2 ts Salt
3 tb Butter; melted
2 ts Cream of tartar
1 ts Baking soda
ds Nutmeg
Grated lemon peel
Flour
Beat eggs well and add sugar, mixing well. Add milk, salt, butter, cream of tartar and baking soda. Beat well. Flavor with nutmeg and lemon. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Roll out about 1/2" thick and cut with a double cutter or two different size biscuit cutters. Let doughnuts dry for about 10 minutes before frying in hot fat. Makes about 3 dozen. These are even better when sprinkled with a little powdered sugar.

Buy a can of biscuits. Use a thimble to make a hole in the center and fry in hot oil. After they puff up, take them out and drain them on a paper towel. Once they've cooled for a few minutes, sprinkle sugar or powdered sugar on them. Yummy!!!

TERRY'S FAST & EASY DONUTS

1 pkg. ready to bake biscuits
1 c. oil
Sugar & cinnamon

Separate biscuits and cut a hole in center. Drop in hot oil and turn to brown on both sides. Take out and toss in sugar and cinnamon mixture. They are ready to eat.

EASY DO DONUTS

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Nuts, raisins, nutmeg or cinnamon (opt.)

Combine milk, egg, shortening. Sift dry ingredients together and add to above. Gently drop teaspoons of batter into hot grease, 365 degrees. Drain on paper towels. While still warm shake in paper bag with confectionery sugar or granulated sugar mixed with cinnamon.

Basic Doughnut Holes
15 min | 5 min prep | SERVES 4 , 1 dozen

Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 cup egg substitute (Egg Beaters)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons 1% low-fat milk
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
granulated sugar (optional)
cinnamon sugar (optional)
confectioners' sugar (optional)

Directions
1Combine well the oil, egg substitute and milk --.
2In a seperate bowl combine well the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg --.
3Then add the egg mixture to the dry mixture and combine well; Drop by spoonful into hot (375°F.) oil in deep pan on stovetop or in deep fryer --.
4Fry until golden brown (you may have to turn them over as they cook to get all parts browned) --.
5Remove from oil, draining carefully but while still damp from frying, roll hot doughnut holes in the granulated sugar or confectioner's sugar OR you may simply leave them plain.
6A terrific companion to your favorite coffee, tea or hot chocolate!
