Do you use white or red wine when making a bolognese sauce?!

Question: I always use red but keep finding recipes which use white, what tastes better?! I'm too scared to try it!

Here is a recipe for both, give it a shot and see what you like better.

I personally like the red better!!

White wine. What the heck is there to be scared about?

white.

Try it - it's just a recipe. lol

i would almost always use a red full bodied wine to bring the flavours out

Red sauce, red wine..at least that's what I always thought. White sauces, white wine. Have we been wrong?LOL

you could split the difference and use chianti - it is a field blend of red and white grapes.

Red Wine

Def red wine - I also tried using half pork mince and half beef mince recently and it was really good

I use white wine. I don't like reds and I was always told to never cook with a wine I wouldn't drink. So it depends on your taste buds. I like the dry taste of whites in sauces.

It has to be White. My Nonna always told me to use a sparkling white like Spumante or even use fizzy water.
But never Red.

It wont be disgusting if you use red wine ( I often do ) but if you are talking about a really truly authentic bolognese ragu then you should use white wine.
