Is it normal to blend spaghetti bolognaise sauce?!

Question: Well I have no idea if this is normal or not, I was watching a program and the sauce looked like a sauce, not mince and ingredients in clumps with tomatoe sauce around them. So I thought that they must blend the sauce once it's made because it sort of makes sense. I did this with mine and it lookes more like a sauce and it's easier to make. So my question is, is this normal? Do they do it in professional kitchens?

I've never have Bolognese sauce that was blended, not at home or in a restaurant.

It's meant to be chunky.
