Can I substitute orange sherbet for frozen Oj concentrate in a dreamsicle smoothie recipe?!


Question: Also, what about the ice?? We have none.... any suggestions?

You may need to add a bit of orange extract to boost the orange flavor, but sherbet, milk and yogurt should do it, you may need to add a bit of powdered sugar but go for it!! The good thing is that you won't be adding the ice cubes so it should come out very creamy.

Sure ... use the sherbet. You may not need ice then, since the sherbet is frozen, and the milk will be cold. DON'T use raw eggs! Besides being disgusting tasting, you can get very sick from eating raw eggs......

The sherbert is not as concentrated as the OJ so you'll need to add more or it will tast weak.

I would just mix sherbet, milk and a little yogurt together. It would be great! The sherbet will keep it cold enough so no ice is needed.

absolutely. one of the best things about cooking is variation. You can try substituting anything for anything, as long as your recipe ends up tasting good.
