How can I make a roast extra tender?!
Answers: First - sear the meat with a little oil - on all sides - then make sure you slowly cook the meat in enough water to cover the entire roast. I also use beef bouillon cubes. Get a crock pot - put in the seared meat - drop in three cubes and fill to the top with water - put on the lid and let it cook 7-8 hours - make sure you keep the water level up during the cooking times
SLOW COOK IT IN A CROCK POT.
Always always always! Sear your roast on high in a little oil before you roast it. Searing it locks in all the yummy juices that do their thing while it cooks slowly. That means a tender and juicy piece of roast.
Cook it slow and low...325 F oven (covered). With moisture...I just use water with my herbs and veggies, but some people use beef broth or red wine (the acid in the wine helps tenderize the meat). And the cut of meat makes a difference also. I love eye of round, but know it's never going to be as tender as a chuck roast. Make sure you cut it across the grain also.
This will work!
Cook it in a roasting pan, make sure you add some juices/water, and cover it tightly with foil, it works every time!
Good luck
It helps to start out with a good cut of meat (like boneless pork loin for pork and beef try a sirloin tip) somewhere around 3lbs. cook in oven at 350 for about 2 hours If you want one of the best roasts that you will ever eat ...try this- buy a pot roast bag with seasonings blend and an envelope of onion soup mix +a packet of brown gravy mix add all ingredients along with several cups of water -then top roast with minced garlic and A1 steak sauce ! When done remove roast and strain juice into a sauce pan then add a 2 TBSP of cornstarch heat until boiling GOOD LUCK I hope that this helps
If you already have cooked the roast and it is tough then try boiling it in the juice for a while in a sauce pan :)
I agree with Papaw, use a crock pot. I put mine on the night before and the next day it simply falls apart!
Inject it with a marinade ...
