How do I make fire roasted tomatoes?!

Question: Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Cut tomatoes in half, toss with olive oil to coat, and place, cut-side down, on a baking sheet. Roast for 1-1/2 hours, until the tomatoes are soft and have just begun to exude their juices. Cool, remove the skins, and pack into a container. These are delicious tossed with roasted or grilled vegetables, in soups, and with simple pastas and risottos. They keep for several days, refrigerated.

Buy them in a can.

with roast and tomatos oh and fire

take a bunch of wood and put it in ur fireplace. Then cut open tomatoes put them on a stick and hold them over a fire!! DUH!!! You may add seasonings you you like!

You can make a version at home by holding your tomato w/ tongs (use a potholder) over an open flame until the skin chars and splits, then finish roasting in 400 degree oven for about an hour. (light olive oil in pan, also garlic if you wish). Otherwise, you'll need an open pit or bbq, and you should use a cast-iron skillet to hold the fruit.

I roast them on my grill---over med-low coals.
