Brownie disaster. How do I fix this?????!

Question: I tried to make brownies today. I set the timer and cooked them exactly to the package directions. Let them cool and spread fudge topping. When I went to cut them a few hours later they are like batter!!!! Everything except 1/4 inch around the pan. The whole entire middle is batter!! How do I fix this? Can I put them in the oven again and try to bake them more? Help!

Call it a pudding cake and eat it anyway. Brownie batter isn't the worst thing in the world.

This happened to me, but my oven was new out of the box, and brownies were my first attempt baking in it. It was a disaster as I finally figured out that bake was really broiling and broiling was really baking. The factory reversed the hook ups. If this is not the problem for you, LOL, then try to rebake them, of course, topping will bleed into the brownies and most disappear. Did you preheat the oven? IF it was not hot in the beginning, that could have been the prob. Make sure you do that from now on if you did not. The pan should be placed in the middle vertically as well as horizontally to ensure even cooking.

Your element in an old stove, could be going out as well. If you have an oven thermometer, you should try to heat up oven and check the temps every so often to see if it is regulated. Good luck, dear.

do you have electric or gas stove elertric 25 deg. less then as dircted also always alway check the middle with a knife.

Oi, this happened to me before and I just ate it anyway, haha, it was still good. :P

Anyway, since you followed every single direction, put in the exact time it says in the package, maybe its something with your pan? Is it the right size? That was my problem.

Other than that, I don't really know. Maybe its your oven? Did you preheat it? Ask your mother or father, idk. x)

Best of luck to you! Hope your brownies get cooked well. And I think you should bake it a wee bit more, just watching it every so often --- or you can eat raw brownies, yuuum!
