When chopped up bell peppers feel "slimy" does that mean they have gone bad?!

Question: We usually keep slices of bell peppers around for snacking or quick dishes, but sometimes they get real slimy. Does that mean they've gone bad? They don't LOOK bad, or smell bad....but the slimy consistency is a little weird :p. We keep them in a plastic ziplock bag in the fridge.

they are trash, you want peppers to be crisp full of color, not slimy

yes ... toss them

Im not sure but I wouldnt trust it. But then again, Im very particular about foods and it being good or not, LOL You should rinse them off under cold water if you are planning on using them!

yes, slime = bad peppers

Try rinsing them in water. If they're still slimy afterwards, I wouldn't eat them.

Usually as long as they are crisp or not limp, they should be fine.

yes!!

Yes I'd avoid them, the slimy stage comes just before mould in my experience!

Yes, they are bad. If you're going to use it for cooking, then put it in the freezer.

yes - don't put them in a ziplock they aren't getting a chance to air out, just keep them whole in one on the bags you get from the grocery store in the bottom of your fridge. they stay fresher much longer that way - or even out on your counter for a few days.

yes...

remember the rule

when in doubt throw it out

yes...it happens to me all the time
