Which takes shorter time to bake potatoes, in an oven or in a steamer?!

Question: please give me the differences between the time taken.

Answers: please give me the differences between the time taken.

You can COOK the potatoes faster in a steamer (or microwave oven) than in the oven, but the only place you can BAKE them is in the oven (or toaster oven). Baking potatoes takes about an hour in a 400 F oven (depends upon size - not quantity) whereas you can steam a potato in about 20 minutes. Once you get more than a few potatoes in the steamer, it approaches an hour also and they don't get fluffy pulp or crisp skin (very nutritious to eat the scrubbed skin). When baking potatoes, make sure you poke a hole or 2 so the steam can release or you'll have a mess to clean up.

try the microwave its like 4 minutes

Oven: 45 - 60 minutes
Steamer: 30 - 45 minutes
Microwave: 5 - 8 minutes

These are all based on an average to large potato.

steaming takes less time because in an oven the container needs to gradually heat up.steam also has more energy than ordinary heat so the stuff cooks faster and also retains the nutritive value(much heakthier and yummier!!!)

microwave for 8-10 minutes
or
boil 10-25 minutes

The only way to bake potatoes is dry heat like a grill or oven.
