by blender?

Depends what you are doing but a blender or food processor usually cuts the prep time substantially. I do not use a blender for chopping; I use the food processor for that. I use my blender for blending things to make a smooth concoction of some sort. When I blend by hand; those are usually a much coarser texture. When I use the food processor for grating or chopping; it cuts my time by two-thirds at least.

just use a cutting board your food wont look like soup and it will retain more flavor it doesnt take that long

A food processor works well but I really love my new Kitchen Aid Stick Blender because I don't have to transfer hot food to a food processor risking inadvertent burns-- I can blend it -- puree it -- in the pot. Quick and easily.

The blender can not chop ingredients regardless what the button might say. It is good for mixing, blending and pureeing.

It works in a pinch when ur in a bind. I usually use my food processor to make salsa ror when I need to puree something. Otherwise it's just the knife and board. just experiment with it.
Be careful not to dull the blades
