Did you put the potatoes?
That makes it complete.

cornbread and butter
or rye bread & mustard
deviled eggs Or for time sake just some hard boiled eggs sliced sprinkle with paprika

I usually include onions, carrots and potatoes, and cook them all right in with the corned beef and cabbage. Another idea is turnips. The corned beef should simmer for several hours in a dutch oven filled with water. The carrots and potatoes need about an hour, and the cabbage somewhat less. The recipe I use says 20 minutes for the cabbage, but I like it a little softer so cook it a little longer. Rolls or bread on the side is good, and you can even soak up some of the juice with your rolls. Enjoy!

LOTS OF BEER!!!! Potatoes and carrots traditionally get served with it.....good grainy mustard and horseradish.......and if you like, boiled quartered onions (boiled in the broth that the corned beef was cooked)

Christopher

Mustard and horseradish.

all that's missing is some boiled potatoes and maybe Irish sodabread.

If you have time bring some of the broth to a boil and add a few quartered potatoes,1 sliced onion and carrots cut into1/2 inch slices.cook for about 30-40 mins add to your cabbage....

Onions, carrots, potatoes, corned beef and cabbage. Cook it all together in a large stock pot adding the cabbage the last 20 minutes and you have an exceptional meal. All you have to add is a beverage and dinner rolls.
