Can someone please give me a good and tasty meatloaf & potato recipe?!
set oven to 350 degrees and put rack in the middle
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound ground sausage like Italian jimmy dean
1 onion chopped
1 package of Lipton beefy onion mix
3 ribs of celery chopped fine
2 cloves of garlic
1 cup of water
2 eggs beaten
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup of oats
1 green or red pepper chopped
3 or 4 russet potatoes peeled and washed
cut length wise in about 4 pieces
olive oil
sea salt
first mix everything together in a bowl up to the potatoes
check to make sure that it sticks together and is not to dry or to wet if to dry add some water or it too wet add some more oats
what I use is a glass baking pan as long as I have not too much fat in my meat.
Now take the potatoes and put them in a bowl and put some salt and pepper on them and some olive oil and coat them pretty good.
now form your meat loaf in the middle of your pan and place the potatoes around it
I cover it with some foil and bake it for 1 hour and then check it with a case knife and see it comes out clean
I hope this works out for you. It all comes from memory

Best Ever Meatloaf with Brown Gravy
"This is very tasty and old-fashioned. Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy. Divide into two recipes."
PREP TIME 10 Min
COOK TIME 1 Hr 20 Min
READY IN 1 Hr 30 Min
Original recipe yield: 6 servings
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chili sauce, egg, salt, and freshly ground black pepper; mix well. Shape into an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
Place loaf pan on a rack in an oven-roasting pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until done. Cook until internal temperature measures 160 degrees F (70 degrees C); the meat should be well done, with no trace of pink. Remove from oven, and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
While the meatloaf is resting, prepare the gravy. In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions; cook and stir until tender. Add beef broth; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine water and cornstarch in a small cup; stir into broth. Cook and stir for 1 minute, or until thickened.

Oven Roasted Potatos:
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
2 lbs. potatoes, cut in lg. chunks
1/3 c. olive oil or vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a plastic bag, add all ingredients. Close bag and shake until potatoes are evenly coated. Empty potatoes into shallow baking or roasting pan; discard bag. Bake, stirring occasionally, 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden brown. Garnish, if desired, with chopped parsley. 8 servings.
If you don't want to make mash potates a different recipe to makes potatoes is:
peel and dice 3-5 potates (depending on # of people)
oil a deep sided cake pan and place potatoes in
drizzle extra oil on top and add onion soup mix to taste (can add real onions for an extra kick)
bake in oven at 500 degrees until crispy brown (45min- 1hour)
make sure to stir often to avoid sticking on the pan
I don't have an exact recipe for my meat loaf but I use a kind lean hamburger, and some times I add an equal amount of sausage to the burger.
Here is what I also add to my meat loaf sorry I don't have anything exact cuz I do it to feel. You want to end up with a nice frim feel to the meat loaf. And you want it to hold a shape nicely. I also use the same basic ingrediants to make meat balls but when I do meat balls I chop the veggies up smaller.
Green bell peppers (reds also if I have them)
Onions
Mushrooms
Green Onions
Eggs
Ketchup
Mustard
B-B-Q sauce-sometimes
terriyaki-more for meat balls
worcestershire sauce
Dry ingrediants of some kinds such as oatmeal, dried out bread, slightly crushed Plain cheerios etc..
And here is basic giude to making mashed potatoes.
Mashed potatoes:
Peel the potatoes into chunks; boil just until the potatoes are done. Be careful not to over boil. You know they are done if you can easily slide a fork thru the potato. Drain and either return the potatoes to the pan or into a sturdy bowl. Mix the potatoes with a hand mixer or mash with an old-school hand potato masher. Get the potatoes to the desired consistency, slowly fold in butter. Then add the milk just a small splash at a time, and fold into the potatoes. Sprinkle with the salt and if you have reg pepper or white pepper add that as well.
I hope this helpful! Good luck!
