What is the healthiest salad dressing?!

Question: Ones you make yourself. A nice one is a blend of Tarragon, Balsamic Vinegar, Dijon mustard, a little lemon juice, Olive oil, salt, and crushed black pepper.

Another is to make a mock Pesto with Basil, Parsley, Garlic, ground black pepper, pinch of salt, finely grated Romano or Parmesan cheese, and Olive oil. This is best done in a blender or a food processor.

You can also make creamy varieties by using plain (not lowfat) yoghurt (you can add sour cream to make it smoother), add herbs, dash of salt and pepper ... the only limitation is your imagination.

Bon Appetit!

Bon Appetit!

a vinegar based dressing is the healthiest.

lemon or lime juice with a little salt and pepper.

i use balsamic vinigarette
YUM!

only put your fork in the dressing and than into the salad. Cuts way down on unnecessary fats and allows you to eat a variey of dressings.

Its ether the one you don't eat, or Lime juice with salt pepper and little vingear. Or add Olive Oil.

The healthiest salad dressing is the one you want to eat!!! It must taste good, not be too thin or too thick.

I have about 2 dozen bottles of salad dressings in my fridge because everyone wants a different flavor!! My granddaughter likes RedWine Vinegarette and my husband never considers anything other than basic French.

To make any dressing more healthy, put it in a little dipping bowl on the side. That way you eat less of it than if you just upended the bottle or other container over your salad!

Make a happy salad!!!

It depends on the salad and what is in it besides lettuce. I love plain red wine vinegar or balsamic on salads that have a bit more than lettuce in them (like grape tomatoes or carrots).

For plain lettuce, nothing beats olive oil, a splash of lemon, salt and pepper.

Once you get beyond the basics, the dressings can become much more fattening, especially mayo based ones.

nothing. eat it plain.

I always buy what I like to eat on my salad. I usually buy my favorites which are the no fat dressing. Any kind that you would like.
