hearing oh not sandwiches again, Im fresh out of ideas!. Apparently fruit is boring and so I end up with sandwich, crisps and cereal bar!. Surely theres a more fun and healthy way!? Help!!Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Instead of the normal sandwich on bread you can mix it up and use flat breads and tortillas- You can use wholewheat for nutrition!.

You can do anything from peanut butter and jam to any leftovers rolled up!. Then you can also cut them into pinwheel shapes- kids love this!.

Trailmixes and you can make with nuts, cereal, crackers, pretzels!.

You can do dipped pretzel rods in peanut butter and then dip them in a little chocolate as a dessert

dried fruits- fruits cut into different fun shapes!.

Veggie and pasta mix!. Or meat and pasta mix!. This doesn't even have to be heated up!.

I would make my own cereal bars!.

You can basically use wheat germ and nuts grind up in blender and add some melted butter and put into a pan- bake for about 25 minutes until firm!. Let cool and take your favorite fresh fruit spread and put that on!. Then let that cool and drizzle over a little carob dark chocolate on the top!. You can also grind in dried fruits into the mixture!.

make your own sweet potatoe chips or veggie chips!. Get a madolin and cut very thin various veggies and sweet potatoes and bake in oven or quickly fry in peanut oil!. Add a little kosher salt!.

You can make little fruit shish kabobs!. These are fun for kids with a yogurt dip!.

Veggies finely cut into matchsticks and allow them to dip!.

I used to get soup in a thermos often!. But you can dress up sandwiches by using different breads and cheese than normal, and kids always need fruits and veg, just play around with different ones!. Maybe a fresh pear instead of an apple or just something that is different than usual!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A thermos will keep many items warm !.!. consider pasta, chicken and rice, or soups
also you can do: cheese & crackers w/ some ham or salami; a tortilla wrap w/ meat & cheese inside or peanut butter & jelly; sushi rolls (avocado, cream cheese and such); left over pizza or chicken legs; fresh fruit bowl and veggies w/ranch!. Forget about sandwiches, what about wraps or pittas, or just baps!. My own daughter doesn't like sandwiches so she used to take some crackers and small slices of ham and cheese and put them together at school to eat them!.

Little tubs of hummous with carrot, pepper and cucumber sticks!. Unsalted nuts, dried fruit, yogurt!. Cous cous or rice with roasted chicken diced in them!.


Make sure their drink is pure juice, NOT drink juice!.

If possible leave crisps out, they do not have any nutritional values to justify their presence in a lunch box!.

Cereal bars sound healthy but they can be deceiving, check their sugar contents cause some are very high!. Same with many a fat reduced food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggest get some veggies like celery, carrots, and don't peel them just cut them into strips and a apple or low fat yogurt and add some cheese and ham sandwiches and a cartoon of fruit juice, this should tire them over until they have there supperWww@FoodAQ@Com

i was watching a tv show other day and they said wraps are good, as they not so heavey as normal bread!.

you could ahve a varity for fillings , chicj=en salad, vegi wraps etc or carot and vegi sticks with a dip or you can buy mini philadelphia pots
