The best thing I could tell you is practice, practice, practice!. also, try new things that you havent tried before!. Apply techniques that you learn out of books or from tv!. Experiment a lot! also, if you have the money, look for a weekend cooking class in your area! I have taken a couple of those and learned some great tips that I would have never known if hadnt heard them from the cook with the experience!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Aside from taking a local cooking/baking class if you can find any being offered, just practice practice practice!. Get some cookbooks, ask family and friends for recipes and tips, look for any tips and technique books & just see what works for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use recepies as a guide, change them to your liking and don't be afraid to experiment!. The best cooks are those with imagination!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have fun, like you are doing!. That's the most important!. Don't be afraid to try new and different recipes that may appear challenging!. I try new recipes and follow it to the letter the first time!. Then I change it to make it my own by adding something else or eliminating something I didn't care for!. I also like to buy and try a new ingredient every month or so, one I see on food network or hear about from someone else, so I can see if I like it and what different things I can make with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Never give up even when a dish doesn't turn out the first time!. Be willing to try new recipes!. Trust your taste buds!. Use recipes as guidelines and not laws!. Your tastes may differ!. If you dislike an ingredient such as an herb then don't be afraid to leave it out!. You can always add it in if you decide it would taste better with!.

Build a Cookbook library to include tried and true recipes you experimented with and adapted to your own tastes!. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to forget ingredients!.
I recommend 2 must haves cookbooks!. The Taste Of home Cookbook and Taste of home Baking book!. Both books filled with trouble shooters, graphs, pics and tried and true recipes from at home cooks like you and I from all across the U!.S!.

I'm a pretty good cook myself, I'm not gonna lie but I don't do things that I know I can't!. Do the simple things you know you can do and keep progressing!. And I know what you mean, cooking is almost like a therapy!. And remember: DON'T chop too fast, I tried to be like Emerald one time and starting chopping vegetables like crazy and nearly cut my finger tip off!Www@FoodAQ@Com
