Fromage frais is French for "fresh cheese"!. Since it is fresh it has to be made locally where you live in the world!. You could try substituting cream cheese, or use a local white unaged cheese!. Where I live there is a "basket cheese" that is available around holiday times that is similiar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

artisan cheese shops might have them!.!.!. i've never seen it before, but i guess they come in tubs/containers!. it's going to be a very soft cheese!.!. probably similar to ricotta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's a kind of liquid unsolidified cheese similar to strained, creamy (Greek style) yogurt, usually has some cream added to boost fat content!.
