fried green tomatoes, even though thats a fruit!. Green bean casserole would be great- two cans of green beans, one can cream of mushroom with 1/4 cup milk, add pepper, bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, add french's french fried onions after the 20 minutes and continue baking for another 5 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Amish Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients:
6 bacon slices
1 small onion sliced
3 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 cans (14 1/2 ounce size) green beans drained; half the liquid reserved
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons white vinegar

Directions:

Fry bacon until quite crisp; crumble!.

Retain 1 1/2 tablespoons of bacon drippings!. Add the onion to drippings and saute until lightly browned!. Stir in cornstarch, salt and mustard!. Stir in reserved green bean liquid and bring to a boil!. Stir constantly!.

Blend in brown sugar and vinegar; add drained green beans and heat through!.

At serving time, garnish with crumbled bacon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Collard Greens with Ham Hocks
1 pound fresh collard greens
4 smoked ham hocks
crushed red pepper
hot sauce
salt & pepper
Cut and thoroughly wash greens!.
Place in large stock pot with ham hocks, crushed red pepper and enough
water to cover!. Simmer over medium flame for about two hours (until
greens are tender)!.
Remove from flame and add salt, pepper and hot sauce, to tasteWww@FoodAQ@Com
