How can you make non-stick coating (TEFLON) on a saucepan last longer?!

Question: How can you make non-stick coating (TEFLON) on a saucepan last longer!?
Whenever I buy non-stick saucepan the non-stick (TEFLON) coating goes off after a few months and has to be replaced no matter how gently used!. While cleaning I use only a sponge and a dish cleaner to avoid scratches!. How can I make it last longer!? also is it safe to use a pan that has lost some of its coating!?

Thanks in advance for your answers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Don't use it!.

Teflon is a great idea but so far they just do not work well!. Using low heat, hand washing, tempering with oil and following all the instructions pretty much extends their useful live time by maybe one more meal, not worth the effort!.

Try using other non stick pans!.

Yes, its safe to use after it has lost some of its coating!. What is unsafe is using it hot enough to sear meat!. That is what causes the Teflon to break down and "wear" off, even if the normal use hasn't scratched all the Teflon off already!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do not use more than low to medium heat!. Other than that, you are doing about all you can!. Maybe try a more expensive brand!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't heat it w/o food in it!.

Use plastic utensils!.

Hand wash; no dishwasher machine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do not use metal utensils!. Use low -med heat!. Use care when cleaning no harsh scrubbing, no scouring powder!.
When you have to replace the next pan get a better quality pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try seasoning it with vegetable oil!. also watch what you wash it with and only use plastic utensils that are designed for teflon coatings!. If use use metal you will scratch to coating and the same goes with abrasive sponges!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
