Potato salad question?!

Question: Potato salad question!?
Im making a potato salad and I just boiled the potatoes!. Do I really need to cool them off completly like the recipe says!? Or can they be little warm when I cut them up!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
i peel them warm because they peel easier and chill before slicing because they hold their shape better!. if your in a hurry peel warm, run under cold tap water, then slice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

cut them up when they have cooled enough to handle!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always chop up the potatoes as hot as I can handle them, mostly because I get in a hurry!. German potato salads are served warm to hot!!

There is no law that says potato salad has to be chilled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say to just let them cool little bit for regular ol potato salad!. Because that will help them absorb flavor!. Then let it chill over night or so the make it nice and yummy!. I cut them in 1/2 after I peel them, and let them coo after they are cut in 1/2!. Then I cut them into big chunks, and then mix in all the other goodies, and put it in the fridge for a while!. If you want it sooner then put it in the fridge and stir it every 45 min or so, that will help it cool down all the way!.

If it's other types of potato salad, like German then go ahead and serve it warm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

personally I cut them up when cold they don`t seem to break up then cut`s seem cleaner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put them in the freezer after cooking for 1/2 an hour!. This will chill them to be just the right temperature!. The idea is not to allow the heat to spoil the Mayonnaise in the salad!.

Another trick to great potato salad is add chopped sweet gherkin pickes to the salad instead of dill pickles!. This is a taste treat that few people expect!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you cut them and dress them as soon as you can comfortably hold them it means they take in more of the dressing flavor so do it as soon as you can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
