Bitter vegetable salad! Help!?!

Question: Bitter vegetable salad! Help!!?
Hi!. I just made myself a vegetable salad!. I don't know the name of the vegetable but I'm sure it is a vegetable used for salad since I ate them before at a hotel!.

I mixed it with tomatoes and cucumber!. I used plain yogurt as the dressing!. Can I add anything else to make it taste better!?

Salt!? Black pepper!?

It tastes bitter as hell even though the one I ate at the hotel tasted wonderful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
If it's a green, there are some bitter ones!. Salt generally kills bitter, but what you really want to do is salt the vegetable and let it sit for a few hours, so that the salt leaches out whatever is causing the bitter flavor - then rinse the salt off!. (For interesting salads, use beet greens, Swiss chard and turnip greens!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com
