What would happen if you replaced the water in a pancake mix with orange juice?!

Question: What would happen if you replaced the water in a pancake mix with orange juice!?
All of it!.!. or atleast most of it!.
For some details the mix requires:
1 cup of the powdered mix!.
2/3 water!.

Now, if you replaced most of the water with orange juice, what would be the result!? Would it taste good, fall apart, or what!?

In the case that you still want to put orange juice in your pancake mix, what would be about the perfect amount to give it a nice orange flavor, but not ruin the pancake!?

[Weird question, I know!. Thanks in advance, though!]Www@FoodAQ@Com

Several years ago my step-grandfather used 7-Up in his pancakes when me and my three sisters stayed with him and my grandmother in the summertime !.!. he was too tired to go to the store!! They were delicious!Www@FoodAQ@Com

not weird at all!. I substitute liquids all the time for various recipes, even/especially pancakes!.
You might even throw in some orange zest, and if they're for adults, sub some of the liquid with an orange liqueur!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Might work!. I think I would try adding orange flavoring first!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The acid in the orange juice would kill the baking powder and baking soda!.!.!. Your pancakes be flat!.!.!. If you looking for orange favor in your cakes I would do the orange peel!.!.!.
The oil in the skin would give a wonderful taste!.!.!. Or some Orange extract!.!.!. Stay away from the juice!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I honestly think it would taste awful! but who knows!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'd get pancakes that have an orange flavor to them!. And they might brown a bit quicker than usual, so lower the heat a bit from what you normally cook pancakes on!.

If you really want it orange-y, grate some orange zest (peel) into the batter, too!. That has the oils in it and will give great flavor!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok, a couple of probs with using a pre-mix!. 1st is what another person has mentioned about the pancake ending up flat!.!.!. you can only really use orange juice in a crepe - not a pancake!. 2nd, in a pre-mix they put in powdered milk!.!.!.!. have you ever seen what happens when you put citrus juice in milk!? Enough said! But if you made it really runny then I guess you could make some nice tWww@FoodAQ@Com

You'll end up with a orange flavored pancake but, the pancakes will stick to the griddle or fry pan because of the high amount of sugars in the juice!. If you insist on trying it start with 1/4 cup juice and the remaining water so, that would be 1/3 cup +2 Tbs!. water and 1/4 cup juice!. If it doesnt flavor enough for you add orange flavored extract or better yet orange zest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
