Is it okay to put chocolate frosted cakes into the refrigerator?!
I read somewhere that if you ice a cake with chocolate frosting and put it into the fridge to harden the icing, water will accumulate on top of the cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

mmmm, maybe I'm not sure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've done it before; you'll be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
makes sense!.!. I store them at room temp!. lightly wrapped with Saran wrapWww@FoodAQ@Com
yes&no!Www@FoodAQ@Com
if you eat it fast enough you wont have to worry about it =0Www@FoodAQ@Com
yeah, and then when u are ready just take them out and let them kind of go back to room temperature, and they are as fresh as ever!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It could!.!.!. depending on the humidity and temperature that you have your refrigerator set at!.!.!. it would be condensation then!. But at normal settings, it should be fineWww@FoodAQ@Com
I don't know about in the fridge, but the frosting will probably "sweat" when you bring out of the fridge!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I do this quite often!. But, I use a Tupperware cake keeper and burp the container!. There are other companies that make cake keepers that work as well and they are cheaper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
yes, the frosting will stiffen !.!.!.However, it could take on the taste of the refrigerator after a while it's best to cover it with plastic wrap once the frosting has stiffened, water will only accumulate on top if you put a very warm cake in!. room temp should be o!.k!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Condensation (that water on the cake) usually happens when the chilly cake is put out to warm up before serving!. It has nothing to do with the flavor or type of frosting!. It shows up more on darker cakes, yes, but happens to all of them!. I have that problem more when I've frozen a cake, though, than when I had it in the fridge!.
If you mean using real chocolate to cover the cake, not just a normal frosting in chocolate flavor, you do need to be more careful how you store it!. Chocolate can get that nasty white coloration if it's not properly cooled and warmed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not unless you have a container to keep it in, I had chocolate cake get hard/dry and condensation on top when I put it in the fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can put it in the fridgeWww@FoodAQ@Com
Unless serving cake right away, I always stick it in the fridge to stiffen up the icing so it's easier to cover!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Putting the cake in the frig may dry it out and it won't taste as good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
