I have people coming over in 30 minutes to eat lasagna and it won't be finished cooking for an hour and a half!

Question: I have people coming over in 30 minutes to eat lasagna and it won't be finished cooking for an hour and a half
What can I do!? It says to bake at 400 for 105 minutes and has already been baking for 30 minutes!. I didn't know it had to cook for so long!. Can I just raise the temperature to like 450 or 500 and keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I just did the same thing tonight! I thought the lasagna we had was only baking for an hour and it needed to bake for 115-125 minutes!.

First!.!.!.relax! Your guests will be fine!.!.!.!.

Keep the temperature at 400!.!.!. if you make the temperature too much higher, the sides of the lasagna may burn and the middle won't cook right!.

Here's what you do!.!.!.!. make an appetizer and serve wine!

While the lasagna bakes, put out some crackers and cheese!.!.!.!.maybe some grapes!.!.!. or run to the store and buy a melon and wrap slices of prociutto around the melon slices!.!.!.and serve with wine!. You could serve salad first too!. Or even chips, if that's all you have in the house!.

No one will complain if they have to wait another hour for dinner as long as there are drinks and snacks and good conversation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd only raise the temp 25 degree!.!.!.!.!. Then, open a bottle or 2 of wine!.!.!. put out a platter of relishes, or make a quick dip with some sour cream & herbs w/ crackers!. If you're having a salad, serve that before the lasagna courseWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yep- Olive Garden- or go buy cheese and crackers, a huge salad bar salad, and a few bottles of wine!. If they are good friends- you can stretch out the time!. Plus 105 minutes, minus the 30 you have already have it in there, is 75 minutes- if they get there in 30, the lasagna will be done 45 minutes later- not too bad at all!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like almost all the other answers!.!.!.!.!.serve drinks and some good conversation!. Apologize for time delay, find a game everyone can play, cards, board game!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no it wont be cooked all the way through, have u put some kitchen foil on the tray to contain the heat!? should speed up the cooking time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

basically every thing in Lasagna is already cooked, it just has to heat through and set, and your talking almost two hours of cook time, it shouldn't take that long, test with food thermometer for temp consistently!. it might not be set but you will eat before midnightWww@FoodAQ@Com

You don't want to turn up the heat or shorten your cooking time!. True, the items in the lasagna are already cooked but delaying your guests with conversations and appetizers will do you much better than overcooking or under cooking your meal!. Would you rather be known for throwing a fantastic dinner party or known for having a burnt or undercooked dinner that you tried to pass off to your guests!? Truth be told that I'd like the latter!. Besides, when throwing a dinner party, most guests expect to be entertained for a while!. If they don't and do complain about it, they should throw the next event!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Give your guests bread to tide them over till the lasagna is cookedWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've been making lasagna for a long time and never have I had it baking for that long!. I bake it for 30 minutes with aluminum foil and then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes!. It always comes out great and there are hardly any leftovers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Serve salad, see what your guests would like to drink, put out a basket of rolls!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

play games, cards charades or just sit and chat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, Olive Garden is a good idea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Olive garden is soo good, their pasta is great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OLIVE GARDEN!! everyone will love itWww@FoodAQ@Com
