Salt, but it tastes so good!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Good Question, I have to say either salt or butter, if you are talking from a health perspective!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Monosodium glutamate!. It is added to a huge number of processed foods because it is addictive, makes people eat more than they otherwise would (thus the food companies sell more), and is probably responsible for most of the obesity epidemic today!. Google it for more details!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Probably the most common ingredient would be salt!. Most foods already contain enough salt to begin with!. Adding more just compounds the sin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

MSG would have to be the worst because it is often present in food despite the fact that the body doesn’t need it!. This flavor enhancing agent is still used as in ingredient in a number of foods and food additives (like commercial spice mixtures) despite the fact that many people are allergic to it!. MSG has also been blamed for a number of other health issues although definitive evidence lacks in many studies!. It really doesn’t serve much of a purpose besides making food taste more flavorful, even though scientists aren’t exactly certain as to how it achieves this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Caffeine, MSG, fats, sugars (like corn syrup), some of the artificial sweeteners, salt!.!.!.
I have no idea why someone would say soy!. That makes no sense to me at all!. I'm also surprised that nobody so far has mentioned caffeine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

salt, Try switching to sea salt if you must add saltWww@FoodAQ@Com

Sodium nitrite, hands down!. Check out what wiki says:

"it can be toxic for mammals!. (LD50 in rats is 180 mg/kg!.)"
and
"Various dangers of using this as a food additive have been suggested and researched by scientists!. A principal concern is the formation of carcinogenic N-nitrosamines by the reaction of sodium nitrite with amino acids in the presence of heat in an acidic environment!. Sodium nitrite has also been linked to triggering migraines!. http://www!.fda!.gov/FDAC/features/1998/39!.!.!.

Recent studies have found a link between high processed meat consumption and colon cancer, possibly due to preservatives such as sodium nitrite!.

Recent studies have also found a link between frequent ingestion of meats cured with nitrites and the COPD form of lung disease!."

That's gotta be about the worst thing you can ingest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

High fructose corn syrup!. It's in everything, even your favorite fast foods!. We are drowning in it and nobody can figure out why diabetes and obesity are rampant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
