Would it bother you? Please be honest.?!
I missed Italian beef sandwiches and couldn't find any in West Texas!. So, I found a recipe and put it all in the crockpot and while it was cooking I went to the store to buy Hoagies and peppers!. When I got home my husband had turned it into something else!. He added rice, so it soaked up the juice and added his own touches!. Well of course it was no longer Italian beef for sandwiches and I have to find other uses for the fixins!. When I saw what he was doing when I walked into the door I asked him "What have you done to it!? What have you added!?" He could tell I wasn't happy and so he just said "I just added rice and little bit of stuff"!. He got mad and left the room and didn't want it!. This has happened many times!. Anytime I want something to simmer he just takes over and turns it into a different dish!. I will be in the middle of a recipe and he just comes and turns it into something else! He has taken a chicken I had roasting for a cassarole and chopped it up and made sandwiches!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My step dad does the same thing to my mom!. It's very irritating!. It's like he's trying to get a rise out of her!. She gets angry and he stomps off like he's trying to find a reason to make her mad and walk away!. I have no problem with my hubby though, he lets me rule the kitchen unless I ask for his help!. I shew them all out of my kitchen!. I do try to work with what he's craving, but I keep him out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Oh my, yes that would drive me crazy and make me really mad! I'm a single mother so used to doing all the cooking but when I was married my husband never stuck his nose in!.
You need to talk to him and tell him it really irritates you when he does this, especially when you've had a particular craving and are catering for it!.
He sounds a bit insensitive to me!.
Hope you get it all sorted out and eventually get those Italian beef sandwiches!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oh I would be very upset!. I'll bet he dosen't take over the housework!. I had a slight problem like this and I just waited till he was paying attention and set down some cooking rules like I won't mess with yours if you won't mess with mine!. Once I read that when trying to tell a man anything first you must relate it to them by bringing to their memory another incident that they got emotional about!. Like!.!.!. remember the time your mother added all that salt to the sauce you were making!? Then let him feel it then say well that's how I feel when you tamper with the food I am cooking!. It dosent have to be about cooking, maybe about a lawn mower he was fixing, anything that was messed with!. Good luck and hey try this sometime!. Cook a pot roast with a whole jar of hot giardinara in oil in a slow cooker Yes its fattening but ohhhhh so good!. And the secret to a really good Italian beef is soy sauce!. And then letting it get cold to slice it really thin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I agree with you Truth , it's your creation and should be left alone How this one for ya, I do the cooking since my wife isn't very good a cooking , but my recipes are hampered by her childlike discontent of vegetables red meat except a basic burger ( I long for a steak so desperately) even seasoning !. I was able to make beef stew a couple times and She put ketchup on it !!! well actually she puts ketchup on everythingWww@FoodAQ@Com
Perhaps your husband should be responsible for fixing a meal once or twice a week to get it out of his system!. His "helpfulness" sounds more like a control issue, since he doesn't bother asking if its ok to make additions to something you're making!. I'd be really upset if my partner did this to me! And, I'd make a point of kindly, but firmly, telling him that as much as I love his cooking, when I'm making something special for us, I'd rather he not mess with it!. And, if he gets upset, I'd let him stew about it until he matures sufficiently to have a decent conversation about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
yes, i would have been mad, i might have picked up the entire crockpot and threw it in the trash, and told him to take me out to eat!.
((but i have a nasty Italian temper))
Tell him if he wants to COOK!.!. go to it, if not, leave everything alone! I would post signs in the kitchen, (thats what the therapist said to do) LIKE : HANDS OFF!.!. 2 many cooks spoil the broth!.!.!. ect!.!.!.

My mother had a hard and fast rule when I was growing up - for my dad, "Get the hell out of my kitchen!"Www@FoodAQ@Com
It would bother me if my Husband knew what it is I had intended to make,!. However, maybe you both should sit down and make a solution!. Have him cook one day where you do not go in the kitchen and have a day where you cook and he does not go into the kitchen!. Communication is a great thing!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Perhaps he is just hungry!. I would make sure to have some sandwich elements in the fridge for him to make while you are cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
