1/2 tsp!. salt
1/2 c!. nuts (optional)

Mix well and bake at 325 degrees for about 6 minutes or until barely turning brown!.

ORANGE BROWNIES
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
4 eggs
2 teaspoons pure orange extract
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 recipe Orange Cream Cheese Frosting, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!. Grease a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan!.
DIRECTIONS
Orange Brownies:
Stir together flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a bowl!. Add butter, eggs, orange extract, and orange zest!. Using a handheld electric mixer beat until well blended!. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until light golden brown and set!. Remove from oven, allow to cool and pierce entire cake with a fork!. Spread the Orange Cream Cheese Frosting over completely cooled brownies!. Cut into squares!.
Orange Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons softened butter
1 (1-pound) box confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons orange zest
2 tablespoons orange juice

In a large mixing bowl, whip the butter and cream cheese together with a hand-held electric mixer!. Gradually beat in the confectioners' sugar until it is all combined and smooth!. Beat in the orange zest and juice!. Spread over brownies!.

INGREDIENTS
1 (19!.5 ounce) box traditional fudge brownie mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1/3 cup boiling water
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
3 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!. Lightly grease a 15 by 10 by 1-inch jelly roll pan!. In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, oil, water, eggs, and vanilla!. Beat with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes!. Stir in chocolate morsels!. Pour batter into prepared pan!. Bake 18 minutes; cool completely!. Cut brownies using a 1 1/2-inch round cutter!. Place on a serving tray; set aside!. 2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!. Sift together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder and baking soda; set aside!.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth!. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, until well blended!. Gradually stir in the flour mixture!. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon, stir in walnuts if desired!. Drop cookies by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets!.
Bake for 10 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are light brown!. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely

*Chewy Chocolate Brownies I

A little oil, for preparing the pan
2 1/8 cups (1 1/4 pounds) semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
1 cup unsalted butter, diced (2 sticks)
3 tablespoons fresh, strong coffee
3/4 cup soft brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose white flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 cup raisins, or half raisins and half walnuts
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375F!.
Lightly oil an 8 x 11-inch baking pan!.
Melt chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of gently boiling water!.
While the coffee is hot, add sugar to it, making sure it dissolves!. When cool, beat in the eggs!.
Combine the remaining ingredients together in a bowl!. Add melted chocolate to the egg mixture and combine well!. Fold into the dry ingredients!.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until just firm to the touch!.
Cut into squares and serve warm or room-temperature!.


*Chewy Chocolate Brownies II

16 whole chocolate graham crackers (8 ounces)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 large egg white
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2/3 cup chopped pitted dates
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 300°F!. Coat an 8-by-11 1/2-inch baking dish with cooking spray!.
Pulse graham crackers into crumbs in a food processor or place in a large plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin!. You should have about 2 cups crumbs!. Transfer to a small bowl; add cocoa and salt and mix well!.
Combine eggs, egg white, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a large bowl!. Beat with an electric mixer at high speed until thickened, about 2 minutes!. Blend in coffee granules and vanilla!. Gently fold in dates, chocolate chips and the reserved crumb mixture!. Scrape the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly!.
Bake the brownies until the top springs back when lightly touched, 25 to 30 minutes!. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting!.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage!.

*Chewy Chocolate Brownies III

1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons water
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Hershey's baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
powdered sugar

PREHEAT oven to 350° F!.
Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan!.
COMBINE sugar, butter and water in large bowl!.
Stir in eggs and vanilla extract!.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; stir into sugar mixture!.
Stir in nuts!.
Spread into prepared baking pan!.
BAKE for 18 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky!.
Cool completely in pan on wire rack!.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar!.
Cut into bars!.
