Slow cooking a chicken?!

Question: Slow cooking a chicken!?
I've decided to have a go at cooking a chicken in the oven at about 120 degrees!. How long will it take, and has anybody tried this before!?

I do have a slow cooker but I want to try something different!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to cook a whole chicken in the oven at 250 for about 5 hours!. It's delicious, and comes out very tender and not dry!. Here is a link for a delicious whole chicken recipe!.

http://allrecipes!.com/Recipe/Roast-Stick!.!.!.

The recipe calls for marinating the chicken overnight, but I have done it without marinating and it is just as delicious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

my hubby slow cooked a chicken it took about 3 hours it was on a low temperature but it was worth it it was stunningWww@FoodAQ@Com

That's too low!. Try 325 at 20 min!. a pound!. That's slow enough and your chicken will be very tender with a nice crisp skin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you're gonna dry it out!.
Slow cookers are sealed, more or less!. If you just stick something in the oven at a low temp for a long time, it's gonna dessicate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i personally think that will dry it out!. you are better off putting it in the slow cooker!. if you wanna try something different just use different seasonings, or throw a can of soup on top or something!. you could also try grilling it and adding beer as a baste!. my dad does it with turkey for holidays and it is fabulous!. just remember to use a metal pan and a rack!. good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Folks on Yahoo answers need to remember that the USA still uses degrees Fahrenheit, rather than Celsius!. So 120 C is 248 F!. This is certainly enough to safely cook chicken, provided the cooking is long enough for the heat to penetrate and cook the centre properly!.

Please always quote units when writing a temperature!.

Can't answer the actual question I'm afraid, though!
