Butterscotch cookies,(ran out of flour).?!


Question: Butterscotch cookies,(ran out of flour)!.!?
Ok so I am baking butterscotch cookies!.
The flour I found was "old" & i do not intend to use it!.
Can I use cornstarch instead of flour!?
I also found out I dont have baking soda!.
Is that a problem!?Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
No you cannot use cornstarch!. you can however make flour from oatmeal if you have any!.

Oat Flour Recipe:
1) Simply take some whole oats (rolled or quick variety) and put them into a blender or food processor!. A coffee bean grinder works remarkably well, also!.
2) Grind until a floury consistency is reached!.
3) That is all there is to making your own oat flour!.
4) Store in airtight container such as a jar!.
5) Label the jar with the grinding date
It is a little lighter so you may need a little more!.

Unfortunately there is no substitute for baking soda!.
