Brown it, throw on some onions and a can of chopped tomatoes, simmer it on top of the stove and you will have swiss steak!. You can season it with herbs if you want to give it a more interesting flavour!. Good comfort food from my childhood!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Chuck steak is a less tender cut and should be marinated to tenderize it
Ingredients
1 beef chuck 7-bone steak, cut 3/4 to 1 inch thick (about 2 pounds)
Marinade: for chuck steak
marinate for six hours
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1/8 to 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
Directions
Combine marinade ingredients in medium bowl!. Place beef steak and 1 cup marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn to coat!. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or as long as overnight, turning occasionally!. Refrigerate remaining marinade!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2 - 3 lb!. Chuck steak, cut into serving pieces
2 tbsp!. salad oil
2 lg!. onions, sliced
2 c!. each sliced carrots and sliced fresh mushrooms
1 med!. size green pepper, sliced
1/2 lb!. fresh green beans, cut into pieces
3 tomatoes, sliced
1/2 c!. uncooked regular rice
2 tsp!. salt
1 1/2 tsp!. sweet basil
Oregano
1/4 tsp!. freshly ground black pepper
1 c!. shredded cheddar cheese
Brown the meat in the oil in a large frying pan!. Arrange 1/3 of the sliced vegetables in a 4 quart casserole!. Place 1/2 of the meat pieces over these vegetables and sprinkle with 1/3 of the rice and seasonings!. Add another 1/3 of the sliced vegetables, the remaining meat, 1/3 of the seasonings and all the remaining rice!. Top with remaining sliced vegetables and seasonings!. U could marinade it first on the bbq or cut it up AND marinade it and put it on skewers for shishkabob, or put it in a crock pot with potatoes, your choice of seasonings, onion, garlic, etc!. Put it in a crock pot with a jar of pepporicini peppers, juice and all and cook on low for hours, add hoagy rolls and your choice of toppings and you have italian beef, that is sooooo tender!. Cut chuck steak into chunks, Remove as much large fat pieces as possible!. Roll in plain flour until well covered!. Brown in frypan!. Remove and place in large saucepan!. In frypan add six roughly chopped onions and gently fry!. Place with meat!. the word "steak" is dodgy as, b/c u dont eat it as u would any other type of steak meal!
u have to braise it ie-as for casserole and when i do it depending on the quality the cooking time could be anything from 2 to 5 hours, on a really low heat with a lid, keep adding water to top it up, as long as the meat is just covered with liquid it will cook beautifully like this!.

if you want something easy you make it a pan ontop of the stove with some seasonings, potatos and eat it with steak sauce!. Or you can grill it and sautaee some veggies with it such as bell peppers, onions, carrots, etc!. There is also a link to the recipe website massrecipes!.com with 205 chuck steak recipes!. I make it the southern way, flour really well and salt and pepper, brown on both sides, put a lid on, turn to warm or low and let it slow cook!. Check to see how it's doing, sometimes I turn it over and add a little water!. Low and slow and long!. It will be tender then!. Make gravy in the pan after you remove the steak and serve with rice or potatos!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
season that sucker and put it in your crockpot and add some beef broth, onion soup mix, garlic, onions, carrots, bell peppers, and potatoes!. set it on low for 8 hours and you'll have a great meal when it's done!.!.!.you can also use a can of cream of mushroom soup too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
