Answers:
if your making a meal, any leftover trimmings you have ie carrots, chicken bones, (mayve even bullion paste - to make a stock mix) and boil in water!.

Only!.!.!.don't use onion skin or aubergineWww@FoodAQ@Com

Can you cook a roast chicken or some chicken legs & thighs for a recipe, keep the bones, and then make the stock with that - add some seasoning and a studded onion, carrot and some celery - then you can freeze the stock and use when needed!. I always keep some in the freezer ready for a last minute risotto or something!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't advise using ham ends, it'll be too salty!. You really need a chicken carcass to make good stock!. So after you've eaten a roast chicken, put carcass in a pot with clean cold water, diced carrot, onion, celery leek few peppercorns and some salt!. Bring to the boil and skim off any scum that rises to the surface!. Strain!. You can now boil down to concentrate the stock if you wish!. I concentrate it down and pour it into ice-cube trays!. Failing that and if you don't want the bother there are some really good stocks in the supermarketWww@FoodAQ@Com

When I roast a chicken I save the carcass!.!.!.!.when i have about 3 I make a stock!.!.!.I place the bones in a large stock pot add onion, carrots celery and bay leaf and enough water to coverand cook all day on low!.!.!.
back in the day before chicken wings got so popular!.!.!.and they were cheap I would use them to make stock!.!.!.
You can ask the butcher for beef bones!.!.!.they normally don't charge you much per pound!.!.!.

Ham ends or hocks are great for making stock for beans!.!.!.I put onion and bay leaf and cook it all day as well!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Every time you buy chicken save the wing tips, backs!.!. for stock!. Just put them in a bag and label and toss in the freezer!. When you get the urge to make soup you got your fixins!. I would not use ham unless you are going to make something like split pea soup or lentil soup!. Ham can be a little porky in flavor and won't taste good in a lot of soups!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi, just buy a whole chicken, cook it and use the bones for your stock!.You then have the added bonus of eating a whole delicious chicken all to yourself hmmm!.

P!.S!. of course you have to cook it when everyone else is out or you will have to share it!Www@FoodAQ@Com
