You should use a serrated knife, cut the top and bottom off first, then stand it up on the cutting board and use the knife like a saw and take the peel off, after its peeled, stand it up and cut it into quarters, then you can cut away the core that will be on every quarter, slice each quarter long ways in half then you can chunk it up, toothpicks would be fineWww@FoodAQ@Com
Using any large knife, place the pineapple on it's side & cut the top & bottom off!. Stand it upright on either top or bottom side & start shaving (slicing) the skin downwards!. Then you can cut it in half, place the flat side down & cut it as thick as you like, so you end with half rounds, then cut the half rounds again into quarters or chunks!. You can use toothpicks in each piece!.
I find cutting it this way you don't loose too much of the fruit!.
Tip: When you cut the top part, cut enough of the skin at the base of the leaves to make a flat surface, place it in the center of a plate & add the pineapple pieces around it along with other sliced fruits, cheese or whatever you like!. Looks beautiful as a center piece & you just used up the whole fruit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best knife to use is your chef's knife!. To cut it first cut off the top and bottom!. Then stand it up on the flat bottom, take your knife and start at the top and run your knife down the side of the pineapple just below the rough skin, repeat all the way around!. Then cut into the desired size chunks!. As for toothpicks I would put toothpicks out next to your platter but I wouldnt place a toothpick in every pieceWww@FoodAQ@Com
Ok, you got the answers as to how to cut it!.!.!.!. here's another tip I got years ago from Julia Child's show: Turn the pineapple upside-down and stick it into a large pitcher overnight!. Then cut it the next day!. That will distribute the juices throughout the pineapple, instead of all at the bottom of it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
