Question: Scrubing potatoes!?
I'm making smashed red potatoes this evening, and the recipe calls for the potatoes to be 'scrubed'!. How exactly does one do that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't peel the skins off, you should wash them under cool running water until all the dirt is gone!. Some people use a nylon scrubby for the kitchen to scrub them with!. I just rinse them well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's basically just telling you to clean them!. You can either use a scrub brush, or just run them under water and rub with your hands to try to get the dirt off!. Red potatoes are generally cleaner than brown ones to begin with, so it's not too hard to clean them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

basically it just means what is says,i do it by holding the potato under the tap and rubbing the skin off with my fingers, some of the skin will come off,it will look like its not been peeled, but thats how its supposed to be,then cook as normal, hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

All you do is use a scrub brush and lightly scrub it!. You dont have to do it like that though, simply run it under cold water adn wash all the dirt off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetable brush under running water!. By the way it's spelled SCRUBBED!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just wash them under water, clean off any dirt that maybe on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
