Reheating questions…Baked Ziti?!

Question: Reheating questions…Baked Ziti!?
My oven went out yesterday and I have a huge dish of baked ziti that needs to be reheated for tonight’s dinner (also microwave busted about a month ago) How would you suggest re-heating this meal!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are your options:

1) Stove: add-in a little tomato sauce, and cook it in a pot on the stove!. You'll lose that "baked" texture, but it'll be hot
2) Grill: Cover the pan tightly with foil and cook on the grill with the cover on!. Gas grill is better than charcoal!.
3) Neighbor oven: this is the best option!. You can control the heat the easiest in the oven!.

Oven repair: depending on what's wrong, oven's are usually pretty easy to fix!. If it's an electric oven, you might just need a heating element ($20 and easy to do yourself)!. If it's gas, it's probably the igniter (can't remember the cost, but still pretty easy!.!.!.)

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most of your answerers are correct, but just as a side note:

DO NOT use glassware!.!.!.!.It can get hot enough to crack or break while reheating!. Anything else will work on a grill surface which is your best bet!.

also, you could try going to a walmart or something like it and see if they have any of the bunson burner style serving platters which allows the food to stay warm while its being served!. This will not only heat up the food, but keep it warm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

maybe you can steam it on the stove with a roasting pan

I think this might work get 2 or 4 empty tuna cans and put them underneath the pan of Ziti and put the water up to the pan in the roasting pan and cover so the steam can heat up your zitiWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can reheat in a large fry pan or dutch oven, starting with additional sauce in the bottom, along with some water, then pasta, cover!.!.!.heat on very low flame, stiring often!. Starting with pasta at near room temp!. will also help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know if you have a grill, but your could put it in a glass dish, turn the grill on high, cover it, and stick it on the grill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have a gas grill you can use that like an oven!. Heat it up and then do the indirect heat thing as putting your pan over direct heat would burn the pasta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stove top re heat slowly so it does not stick!.
Grill would work even better if you have one!. Place in the baking pan and put on hot grill!. (I would use an indirect heat method so pasta, sauce and cheese do not burn)Www@FoodAQ@Com

~*~You could put it into a pan on the stove and reheat it that way!. If it is too sticky then just add some more tomato sauce,Www@FoodAQ@Com

A skillet!. You could also ask a neighbor if you could use their microwave!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you have a grill or a neighbor's oven!?

Sounds like you'll be taking a trip to Lowes this weekend!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Does the stovetop work!? If so, use that, with a non-stick pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
