Question: Best breading for Tilapia!?
I am making some Tilapia today!. I am going to just fry it in the pan, anybody know any good breading recipe!? I was thinking dipping it in egg, flour, egg, then bread crumbs!.!.!. Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are two breading variations for you!.

Parmesan Encrusted Tilapia

6 tilapia filets
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tbs water
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Pre-heat oven to 375 F

Rinse and dry filets
Whisk together eggs and water in a shallow bowl
Combine butter, paprika, bread crumbs, and parmesan in shallow bowl
Grease (oil spray) 9 x 13 glass baking dish

Dip filets in egg wash;
Coat with bread crumb mix;
Place in baking pan!.

Bake (uncovered) for 12 – 15 minutes or until just cooked through!.


Tilapia in Pecan Breading

1 Pkg!. Tilapia fillets (6 pieces)
2 eggs beaten with 1/3 cup milk
Flour
1/3 cup crushed pecans and 1/3 cup bread crumbs mixed together
Light olive oil

Heat oil in frying pan (about ? inch deep)

Dip fish in flour
Dip fish in egg/milk mixture
Dread fish in pecan/bread crumb mixture

Fry for 3 minutes; flip over; fry for 3 more minutes

Drain on paper towels; Flip over onto new paper towels to finish draining!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best and easiest is Kraft Shake-n-Bake!. I do this about once a week and it's delicious!. Follow directions on the box, just like you would for chicken!. It's baked, but tastes fried!. It's better for you than pan frying and clean up is easier also!. Trust me on this and you may never pan fry again! Bon Appetite!Www@FoodAQ@Com
