Question: Help me please - preferably if you live in the USA!?
I've just cooked Ina Garton's (barefoot contessa) Virginia baked ham, 16lb - bone out! with garlic, mango chutney, orange juice and jest and brown sugar - and it's yummy were having baked potatoes and a fresh garden salad - but what other veggies shall I do!? I don't need recipes, I'm a fully qualified chef - I just wonderd what you'd eat with this in the good old US of A!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love fresh asparagus with ham also fresh cooked beets go really well!. Some type of baked apple makes a nice offset side to ham also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could make baked sweet potatoes instead of white, a sweet potato casserole, steamed whole green beans, broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce, pineapple rings, a lime jello and pineapple salad, mashed potatoes with lots of real butter, steamed baby carrots, baked squash!.!.!.

I live near Smithfield where Virginia hams come from!. Here's what we eat with it: green beans and new potatoes(cooked with raw bacon or fatback for seasoning), fried okra, okra and tomatoes(served cold), fried green tomatoes!. (You didn't mention any bread -- you've got to have cornbread or hot biscuits!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

well you already have the taters and salad -- maybe green beans or a bean salad, or a carrot dish!? some nice bread would be good -- but thats not a vegie!. a squash casserole!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would add some steamed chopped carrots, just for colour!.
