Question: What's the difference between bake and broil!? Does broiling make stuff crispier!?
Answers:
baking bakes the inside the food, broiling uses heat from above so it makes the top of the food crispier or cooks it, baking uses heat all aroud but broiling is just heat from above it doesn't cook the bottom of the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Broiling is close to grilling on a bbq grill!.!.!.!.so yes it makes it foods crispier!.!.!.and you have to be careful about where you place the rack and what you are making!. If something calls for baking and you would like the outside crisped a bit!.!.!.bake at the regular temp and time!.!.!.!.in the center of the oven, then move the rack to the top of the oven!.!.!.change the temperature and setting from bake to broil and put in for a few minutes!.!.!.!.!.its very easy to burn things when you are broiling!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Alton Brown probably has a great definition for this!.!.!.but, basically, broiling is direct HIGH heat and baking is more indirect or ambient heat all around!.

If you check out your oven, the element (or gas) will need to be ABOVE the item cooking & you'll set the temp at 500 degrees+ F!. It is kind of like grilling, but without the grill!?!?!?

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baking is using the bottom element in the oven, broiling (called grilling in many parts of the world) is cooked under the top element in the oven!.
Because it is closer to the heat it will crisp things faster, but you have to watch it doesn't burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Broiling is like bar-b-que ing in the bottom of your oven!. It is healthier and tastier, just don't over-cook it!.
Broiling is quicker

Baking is for a slow, internal and external cook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The difference is that when you bake the heat is from the bottom and is not overtly hot!. When you broil it is from above and closer to the food!. It is extremely hot and will crisp up the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When you broil something, the heat is much higher and the food is closer to the heat source!. Yes, it makes it crispier and doesn't take as long as baking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
