You are SO right, there are so many Smoothie recipes online,,,you have plenty of time to wonder thru them later!.
I love smoothies, and keep it pretty quick and basic,,,,I usually have a bag of frozen blueberries, or some kind of berries in the freezer, and fresh bananas,or maybe peaches, whatever hard fruit is in season, on hand!.
I use toss in a couple handfuls of berries, or bananas/ cut up peaches, a splash of milk, ( I use lo-fat,,it seems fine ), and lots of ice!.
I don't add any sugar, I want to taste the fruit!.
I want it thick from the fruit!. Sometimes I add a spoonful of protein powder!.
If you start off without any sugar, you'll be fine!.
My blender is old so I just keep tasting it until the ice is blended and gone!. Your new well will probably decimate the ice in nothing flat!
If I have some kind of yogurt on hand I may toss that in as a change !.
I still prefer, fruit milk, ice, voila!.
In the summer, I get mango's and make Smoothies with fresh mango's and that is my favorite!.
Good luck, enjoy, and don't be afraid to experiment, that's how you come up with the best ones!Www@FoodAQ@Com

this is so personal!.!.!.!.!.you will like what you like!.!.!.!.!.pick your favorite fruits!.

but I have found a couple of key tricks ingeneral in smoothie making!.

1 - Use regular milk or soy milk & bananas for a silky smooth base smoothe mix - Tofu if you want more protein!.
2 - Try not to add more than 2 more fruits as your primary flavorings!.
3 - Sneak in 1/4 of a carrot or a small slice of cabbage for some extra nutrition & fiber!.!.!.!.!.not too much or it will taste 'icky'!.
4 - add a little sugar if you want it sweeter!.!.!.!.!.and add ice!.
5 - if your blender is not very powerful (less than $60 bucks) - put in small chunks of ice gradually while it's running!.!.!.!.!.or peel and freeze your bananas use them as the freezing agent!.
6 - let it mix about a minute longer than you think it needs!.
7 - for more of an ice cream - add vanilla pudding & or powder milk !.!.!.!.and only 1 fruit to the base of milk and banana!.
