1 cup of self raising flour
50g Butter
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup sugar

1!. Rub flour and butter together
2!. Add sugar and milk
3!. Mix

If it's a bit dry add a bit more milk
If it's a bit wet add a bit more flour

4!. Get the mixture out of the bowl and knead
5!. Roll out the mixture so it's about 1cm thick
6!. Use a scone cutter (or a glass) to cut out the scones
7!. Cook at 200 degrees for 15 mins

3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup cream
1 egg
Handful dried currants or dried cranberries

Heat oven to 375 degrees!.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar!. Mix well!. Cut in butter and shortening!. In a separate bowl, combine cream with beaten egg then add to dry ingredients!. Stir in fruit!. Turn dough out onto a floured surface!. Roll dough out and cut into biscuit size rounds!. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

* 1 cup sour cream
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup butter
* 1 egg
* 1 cup raisins (optional)

1!. In a small bowl, blend the sour cream and baking soda, and set aside!.
2!. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Lightly grease a large baking sheet!.
3!. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt!. Cut in the butter!. Stir the sour cream mixture and egg into the flour mixture until just moistened!. Mix in the raisins!.
4!. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly!. Roll or pat dough into a 3/4 inch thick round!. Cut into 12 wedges, and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet!.
