Applesauce replaceing oil in cake?!


Question: Applesauce replaceing oil in cake!?
I herd this but i never done it!. so does it change the taste!? and also the way i normally make my cakes is with just mix and sprite!. the soda make it so much and no eggs nothing else is required so wold it be the same for applesauce!? or do i still add other stuff!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You substitute applesauce for the oil!. Use the same amount!. It might give it a sweeter flavor, but not much sweeter!. I've never noticed a difference in the flavor when I used apple sauce!.

I have never heard of using sprite in cake though!. Do you just buy the mix and put sprite in and bake it!? How much sprite!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've been wanting to try this myself but don't usually buy applesauce as my kids don't like it!. But I recently got some strawberry flavoured applesauce thinking my kids MIGHT like it (and they didn't, go figure!.) So I was thinking I'd go ahead and give this a try! I'm gonna use strawberry flavoured applesauce in place of the oil using a strawberry cake mix!. Wish me luck!

Btw, for those who asked about the Sprite!.!.!.
I have tried Cherry Coke Zero with chocolate cake mix before and it was awesome! I have read all kinds of combinations of sodas and cake mixes and look forward to trying more! Just use a box of cake mix and 12oz of whatever soda you want! No oil, eggs, or water!. Bake as directed on box!. Good luck and have fun with it!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know the applesauce keeps it very moist!. I don't notice a difference in flavor and I make my cakes this way all the time now!. As for not adding anything else, the eggs are supposed to make it fluffy!.!.!.it might make the cake too moist, but not positive!.!.!.try it!.!.!.nothing surprises me!. :) Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have used applesauce in place of oil (measure for measure) to make the dessert or salad dressing contain less fat!. I am sure you will have to add everything else!.!. just substitute sauce for oil!. No change in taste or textureWww@FoodAQ@Com

My grandmother does the applesauce!.!.!. Her baking usually turns out just fine!. She doesn't do anything special, just uses the applesauce!. Much healthier!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've had best results doing this by replacing the oil with 1/2 applesauce and 1/2 extra virgin olive oil!. Makes for nice, moist, great tasting baking!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Applesauce is to replace the oil in the recipe!. So, if you normally don't use oil, I wouldn't use the applesauce!Www@FoodAQ@Com
